The International Hindustani Classical Psychedelic rock group stemming from Pakistan have quickly cemented their reputation as one of the most unique bands currently on the circuit.
The band is spearheaded by Sameer Khan, and with the help of his companions, they create an eclectic mix of 60’s/70’s psychedelia whilst over and under, runs through Indian classical sounds and Sufi inspired lyrics that complete the psychic fuzz toned sound that is Karma Sheen.
From a very young age Hindustani classical music has been a part of Sameer Khan’s education. In particularly the Shaam Chaurasi Style of that music. At the age of 16 Sameer underwent Informal training with Ustaad Shafqat Ali Khan and sat with him and his two sons as part of a backing band. Later on at Sameer began formal training from Ustaad Shafqat Ali Khan’s older brother Ustaad Latafat Ali Khan. This music from (now) Pakistan has been passed down through a lineage of 600 years.
