Bucket

Bucket

"The sense of restraint in the music of My Bloody Valentine and Gilla Band that makes them so compelling, like they're holding back a wave of sound; Bucket makes you feel like you're watching the dam burst two feet in front of you." - Ethan Golding, The Goo.

A project conceived by guitarist/vocalist Cian Dahdouh, bassist Emmett McNamee, and drummer Josh Dorrell, Dublin-based 3 piece Bucket seemingly appeared from nowhere with their debut album in the latter half 2021; breeding the DIY ethics of garage and punk rock, soon endowing a reputation
for their sweaty live shows. The band’s debut headline saw them sell out The Workman’s Club, soon playing an array of wall-to-wall DIY shows across Ireland.

2023 marked a shift in sonic direction for the band, embracing elements of noise rock and hardcore to forge a unique and shockingly abrasive sound. Often referred to as the loudest band in Dublin, Bucket aims to test the limits of volume and intensity, delivering a punishing live experience.

The last year alone has seen Bucket go from strength to strength, packing out headline shows in Dublin and Galway as well as playing support to the likes of Heavy Lungs, Press Club and Yard. Since signing with independent label house A Baker’s Dozen, Bucket have released two stand alone singles to a welcomed reception; “Who Knows?” and “Budgie” serve as a statement of intent, aiming to introduce the new direction of the band and set the stage for what is to come.

Bucket kicked off 2024 with a flying start, playing to a sold out Whelan’s main room at the “Ones to Watch” festival, supporting Mexican post-rock legends Austin TV as well as embarking on their ‘BROKE BUDGIES WORLD TOUR’ which saw the band headline Paris’ Super Sonic Club.

With a debut EP on the way, Bucket seek to maintain the momentum amassed in 2024 so far, cementing themselves as a promising Irish export.
