Finn

Finn

"The thing that makes his music truly resonant is its emotional depth, the melancholy that lurks underneath the most chipper melodies and vocal samples. It's the rush, the dance and the hangover all at once, from someone who knows the ups-and-downs that this stuff brings." Resident Advisor

Finn is a Manchester DJ & producer mining a rich vein of emotive dance records, regional club music and off-kilter classics. He’s built a loyal following over the past 7 years, producing a run of breakout hits and underground classics – from his debut ‘Keep Calling’ in 2014 through to his break-out hit ‘Sometimes The Going Gets A Little Tough’ in 2017.

His latest run of releases, a sought-after white label 12” series and an EP with Equiknoxx’s Shanique Marie in 2020 found strong support across the spectrum from the underground through to national radio, with both Boomkat & Radio 1’s Annie Mac singing their praises respectively.

His DJ sets and NTS radio show have both been growing in popularity over the past few years – full of dance-floor oddities, slept-on cuts and unearthed gems, Finn’s eclectic taste leans towards early 90s House, Garage & Hardcore records from the US & UK. Finn has a penchant for picking out and weaving together immediate and earnest records from the archives alongside fresh material from his own crew of Northern DJs, producers and musicians.

His own record label, 2 B REAL, has been going from strength to strength in recent years; awarded DJ Mag’s Breakthrough label of the year in 2020 following a slew of impressive projects from Anz, Gage, Michael J, Blood, Clemency & Martyn Bootyspoon. This year promises more material from Gage, Clemency, Martyn Bootyspoon, Tom Boogizm and some exciting new arrivals on the imprint.

Finn recently launched his own club-night in Manchester, ‘A Party Called’ alongside Anz, Chunky, Jungle Joe & Tom Boogizm. They sold out Soup Kitchen before lockdown put the party on hold. A Party Called promises to return later this year.
