"Bzhezhinska shares with Alice (Coltrane) a mastery of the jazz harp." - The Times ★★★★★

"Aided by Tony Kofi, the London-based harpist wowed LJF-goers with an intimate, intense set in the heart of Soho" - Jazzwise

Alina Bzhezhinska is one of the leading harpists in the world today, a one-woman powerhouse on a mission to bring the harp to the fore of contemporary sound. Causing a splash at the 2017 EFG London Jazz Festival with her Barbican performance, accompanied by Denys Baptiste and Pharoah Sanders – not only planted Alina as a star to watch, but the show also picked up a nomination for “Best Live Experience of the Year” at the 2018 Jazz FM Awards.

Following up her critically acclaimed debut album “Inspiration” (Ubuntu 2018), Bzhezhinska released a second album, “Reflections” (BBE Music, 2022), collaborating with British jazz stars Tony Kofi (Saxophones), Jay Phelps (Trumpet), Julie Walkington (Double Bass) and vocalist Vimala Rowe.

Alina creates a unique sound on the harp with layered effects and electronics, combining original works and covers to pay homage to some of the jazz, funk and hip-hop’s greatest innovators. Throughout the record, she draws from a variety of influences, including the likes of Dorothy Ashby’s ‘Afro-Harping’, Alice Coltrane’s spiritual outputs, Joe Henderson’s free-form jazz experimentation, 90s Acid Jazz and Trip-Hop.
