Karma Sheen, based in London, blends Hindustani Classical music, 60s rock, and Sufi-inspired lyricism to create a unique and electrifying sound. Led by Sameer Khan, trained within the 600-year-old Shaam Chaurasi Gharana lineage, the band fuses traditional South Asian music with psychedelic rock, producing a sound that is both rooted in heritage and forward-thinking.

The group includes multi-instrumentalist Rod Bourganos on sitar, bassist and visual artist Grisha Grebennikov, guitarist Amad Chima, and drummer/producer Arun Dhanjal. Together, they’ve crafted a signature fusion of cultural influences, blending classical ragas with electrified folk instruments and modern elements like analogue synths and theremin.

Karma Sheen’s self-titled debut album, released in October 2023, captures the energy of their live performances, which have garnered critical acclaim at major festivals like Shambala and Boomtown. The band’s Urdu lyrics, inspired by Sufi poetry, delve into spiritual themes, while their music is shaped by bandishes and Alaps from the Hindustani tradition.

Signed to FMLY Agency, Karma Sheen has shared stages with renowned artists such as WITCH, Dur-Dur Band, and Sarathy Korwar, firmly establishing themselves in the live music circuit since 2021.
