DJ Kizzi

DJ Kizzi is the host of the flagship Saturday night show (6-9pm) on BBC Asian Network where she is known for her South Asian beats fused with House, Garage, Hip Hop and Afrobeats. Kizzi can also be heard on BBC Radio 1 where she deputises on R1’s Soundsystem Party.

Born and raised in West London, Kizzi has grown up exposed to all the sounds that multicultural London has to offer. With an open mind and a great ear for music from all cultural backgrounds and genres, Kizzi has the skills to bring tracks together in unexpected ways. Since she was young, she always loved music and started by playing the Dhol when she was 7 years old. At the age of 15 she picked up the decks and never turned back.

Kizzi has gone on to fill regular club nights at Ministry of Sound, Fabric and the iconic 02 Academy Brixton. She has DJ’d with established artists such as Unknown T, B Young, Miss Pooja, Zack Knight and PropheC. Kizzi has also played at big outdoor events that includes Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Commonwealth Games, Birmingham Festival, Coventry City of Culture and Birmingham Mela.

Kizzi’s start in radio came whilst studying at the Global Academy, before moving on to Westside Radio in London and launching the world’s first Desi Rap show. In 2020, Kizzi made her debut on BBC Asian Network as part of their BBC Christmas House Party and her impressive debut led on to hosting ‘The Asian Network Takeover’ in 2021. At the end of 2023, Kizzi made her debut on BBC Radio 1 hosting R1’s Soundsystem Party. Fast forward to 2024, and Kizzi was announced as the new host of Saturday nights (6-9pm) on BBC Asian Network.

In her work in the industry, Kizzi believes in women supporting women and helps to brings females together through the use of music. She has been involved in many DJ training initiatives, offering aspiring young female DJs the change to learn to DJ. This has included free training sessions at a variety of venues across London including Westfield alongside Kizzi’s own free DJ workshops at Pirate Studios.
